89ERS COACHES
DAVID CANNON HEAD COACH
Coach Cannon spent time playing every position of the front 7 on both sides of the ball (with the exception of Quarterback) while attending Shorecrest High School from 2006 – 2010. In his high school career he had the special honor of starting on the “Darkside” defense (complete with highly treasured black practice jerseys) for two years, over a decade before the Super Bowl winning Seahawks played under the same moniker. David has owned and operated his own asphalt/sealcoat company in the area since 2019, while also working as a jack-of-all-trades helping his wife in her real estate business. David had the opportunity to serve as Defensive Coordinator for the PeeWee team last year, and was Head Coach for his son’s basketball team. David’s coaching philosophy is the same philosophy he has for his own life: hard work pays off, iron sharpens iron, trust is the most important part of being on a team, and “luck” is where preparation meets opportunity.
