SENIOR COACHES

BEAU ALLEN HEAD COACH

Coach Allen played defense under Coach Terry Ennis. As a Strong Safety he earned 1st team All-Area on the way to a 2nd place finish in the state tournament. He returned to Murphy as an assistant coach in 2009 and again in 2016-2018 as a defensive assistant, winning a state championship in 2016. He has also coached at Cleveland HS and Meadowdale HS. From 2010-2015 he served in the United States Navy working on avionics with the F-18 platform. Currently he serves as a reservist in Naval Intelligence. Coach Allen has a wife, who he met at Murphy, and 3 kids; an 11 year old boy, and 9 and 6 year old girls. This has allowed him many volunteer coaching opportunities over the years including tee ball, girls volleyball, flag football, and U12 baseball. Coach Allen believes football, and sports in general, teach valuable life lessons that develop kids into successful adults.

BANTAM COACHES

ROGER BRODNIAK HEAD COACH

Coach Brodniak played quarterback at Cascade High School for legendary coach Terry Ennis, and was a member of the 1991 AAA State Championship team inducted into the Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame. He was a varsity assistant and JV head coach with Coach Ennis at Archbishop Murphy High School from 2000-2007, winning 1A State Championships in 2002 and 2003. Coach Brodniak was named interim co-head coach and offensive coordinator in 2012, where he compiled a 6-1 record and helped guide Archbishop Murphy to the 2A State Quarterfinals. He has coached youth sports for the past 8 years, and his flag football teams have won Snohomish County championships each of the last 3 seasons. Most importantly, Coach Brodniak believes in teaching valuable life lessons of personal growth, teamwork, and respect through the wonderful game of football. He has taught social studies at Archbishop Murphy High School for 22 years and enjoys hiking and going to UW football games with his wife and two sons.

JUNIOR COACHES

RYAN PURSCELLEY HEAD COACH

Ryan Purscelley played Offensive Line, Tight End and Defensive End at Springfield High School (OR) from 1993 to 1996.  During the 1996 season, Ryan helped lead the Millers to the Oregon 4A State Playoffs.  In Ryan’s professional career, he has now worked as a Superintendent for Hoffman Construction for 14 years.  Ryan has been coaching youth sports for the last 5 years, including Baseball, Basketball, Flag Football and Tackle Football.  Ryan was an assistant coach for the MCYFL Juniors last year and was able to lead the Cougars to their first playoff victory.   Ryan’s philosophy is to teach and coach the skills that will make the players successful on the field, with an emphasis on fostering great attitudes and effort that will help them off the field.

CHARLIE DIRE HEAD COACH

Charlie Dire has taught High School Special Education English for the last 4 years at Lakewood High School. He attended Archbishop Murphy High School, graduating in the class of 2007. While at Archbishop Murphy, he played football, basketball and baseball. He then earned a degree from Central Washington University before earning his Master of Arts in Teaching. Coach Dire has experience coaching freshmen football at both Archbishop Murphy High School and Everett High School. He currently lives in Everett and loves working with young people to help them develop to their full potential through sports and activities, while having fun at the same time.
